THE DECLARATION Oil on wood. 55.5 x 47 cm. In Louis XV-style frame. In a parlor interior, a woman sitting at a table about to cut bread. In front of her a boy holding his hat in front of him and - apparently in need of explanation - bringing his fingertips together and looking past her. The loose brushstroke is reminiscent of 17th century painters, but the painting is probably later. (14014713) (13)
