BORDS DE LA CREUSE EN AUTOMNE Oil on wood. 23.5 x 33 cm. Dedication "A Mr. Schmoll cordial souvenir" and signature "P. Madeline" lower right. In gilded magnificent frame. The view falls across the flat, yellow-green bank overgrown with reeds to the wide, flowing river, in which the already yellow-orange, autumn-colored trees on the other bank and the high, cloudless light blue sky are reflected. In 1908, he co-founded the Société Moderne, whose members included Henri Baptiste Lebasque (1865-1937) and Maurice Chabas (1862-1947). He is known for his landscapes and village scenes.
