VIEW OF THE PALAZZO CORNER DELLA CA' GRANDA ON THE CANAL GRANDE Oil on canvas. 38 x 62 cm. Signed lower left. In frame with foliate relief. Canal Grande animated by numerous gondolas and boats, in which the adjacent buildings are reflected. The Palazzo Corner, which was planned by Jacopo Sansovino after its predecessor fell victim to a fire in 1532, is of particular importance in the composition offered here. Active in Venice between 1851 and 1888. The painter was called the "Canaletto of the 19th century" due to his popular and high-quality paintings.(1400291) (13)
