TRIESTE, VIEW OF MIRAMARE CASTLE WITH THE ITALIAN FLAG, PROBABLY 1920S Oil on canvas. 35 x 50 cm. View of the magnificent castle on a rocky cliff in the bay of Grignano, surrounded by the calm waters of the Adriatic, with a large sailing boat anchored on the shore and figures under a high light blue sky with light clouds in a mostly monochrome beige-brown and light blue color scheme. The green, white and red Italian flag on the castle tower is particularly striking - probably a reference to the fact that the city of Trieste and its surroundings once again belonged to Italy, as they were Austrian until 1918.
