Behind glass in decorative frame. Three-quarter portrait of the Empress of Austria against a neutral background in a light-colored, magnificent dress, partly decorated with lace at the sleeve ends and collar. She is wearing a short dark cloak with white shells and a matching wide pilgrim's hat with a shell. She is also holding a long stick with a bag hanging from it in her left hand and a book in her right hand. The depiction suggests a pilgrim with the typical scallop shells and walking stick rather than a shepherdess, as the inscription on the reverse of the work suggests. Slightly wavy and rubbed in the margins. (14008539) (18)
