THE LOGGIA IN FRONT OF SAN MARCO AT THE BLESSING OF POPE PIUS VI 1782 Oil on canvas. 41.5 x 33.5 cm. Original gilt frame. The painting repeats a painting by Guardi (61.7 x 46.6 cm). An enormous staircase with loggia was erected in front of the cathedral façade on the Campo San Zanipolo on the occasion of the Benediction of Pope Pius VI on May 19, 1782.
