PORTRAIT OF A BOHEMIAN MAGNATE Oil on canvas. Doubled. 94 x 79 cm. In a magnificent frame. Half-length portrait of an aristocratic man, slightly to the right, against a beige-brown background that darkens to the left. He wears elegant clothing, a blue velvet vest with a row of golden buttons, and a yellow and reddish cloak over it. He is holding a long smoking pipe in his left hand and the hilt of a sword in his forearm. On his head he is probably wearing a fur cap adorned with a small golden feather with a red gemstone. He has brown hair, a moustache, slightly reddened cheeks, a shiny nose and his bright brown eyes are looking out of the side of the picture. Fine painting in a sometimes rapid brushstroke with skillful use of light. Occasional small retouches. (14008928) (18)
