Half portrait of a seated man with a gray wig in a red velvet robe, underneath a white shirt with a lace collar and sleeves decorated with lace. He is holding a brush with which he is painting a canvas standing at an angle in front of him, looking out of the picture. Next to him is a small boy who is pointing to his seated father with his hand. It is probably a self-portrait of the man as a painter. The matching counterpart probably shows his young wife to the left in a blue dress richly decorated with lace, also seated on a red upholstered armchair. Next to her on a tabletop is a needlework box, a roll of thread and a pair of scissors. With her fine, almost white incarnation, her reddened cheeks and her shining eyes, she looks out of the picture attentively. High-quality painting depicting a small family. Sporadic rests, retouches.
