PROCLAMATION TO THE SHEPHERDS Oil on canvas. Mounted on panel. 94 x 120 cm. In wooden profile frame. Several shepherds dressed in polychrome amidst a wooded landscape, with the angel of the Annunciation approaching from the left. Altogether in keeping with the character of Bassano's night pictures. The Spanish artist Orrente was strongly influenced by the Venetians, as was Bassano, which helped him to earn the nickname "Spanish Bassano". Remainder. (1400033) (13)
