SOLDIERS WITH AN OFFICER IN A FARMHOUSE PARLOR Oil on wood. 40.5 x 55 cm. Several standing soldiers in a stable-like interior, one of whom enters the room on horseback on the left. In the center is a splendidly dressed officer in a yellow and red robe with a lace collar and a red velvet headdress with a feather ornament. In front of him is a woman in a green robe, standing in front of an open chest, offering him valuable jewelry with her left hand raised. Behind her stands a boy looking out of the picture at the viewer. At the lower right edge of the picture, several objects, some of them shiny, are presented in a still life-like manner, while a standing horse can be seen behind them. Painting with skillful chiaroscuro, in which the officer stands out with his splendid clothing. Remainder, partly retouched. (1402232) (1) (18)
