Johann Georg Hettinger, um 1670 – um 1710, zugeschrieben KING DAVID Oil on canvas. Doubled. 96 x 76 cm. Unframed. The biblical king in ermine, looking up to God in prayer, his crown laid down on the left, the open book in front of him, a reference to the Psalms of David, the harp in the lower right. The background depicts the king's sin: the palace from which he overhears Bathsheba in the bath, whom he later seduces according to legend. (14008965) (11)
