In wide ebonized frame with gold profile The copper panel presented here in the style of Carlo Dolci shows a finely rendered motif in the form of the Madonna praying in front of a dark background illuminated by her nimbus, whose gaze, however, is not directed at her hands, which are to be added, but at the viewer. The artist, who worked in Florence, was a pupil and imitator of Carlo Dolci (1616-1686). (1401742) (13)
