Franko-flämischer Maler des 18. Jahrhunderts

DIANA AND HER NYMPHS Oil on wood. Parquetry. 65.5 x 98 cm. In decorative frame. In the center of a mountainous landscape with a river, the nude Diana seated on a blue cloth, which also covers her right arm. Her attributes include a small crescent moon on her head and a quiver with arrows, the most valuable of which lies in front of her, next to two dogs. She is surrounded by several nymphs in various poses who have accompanied her on the hunt, three of whom can be seen in the water. Further quivers hanging in the lower left-hand margin and in the tree on the left-hand edge of the picture. Painting in predominantly tonal colors. Restored vertical tear almost in the center and two small lightened areas. (1400894) (18)
