THE MADONNA WITH THE BOY JESUS ON A THRONE AND TWO SAINTS Oil on canvas. Doubled. 36.5 x 27 cm. At the upper end of a small staircase covered with red fabric, a large throne with a seated Mary in a red and blue robe, holding the naked boy Jesus in her lap and holding a small basket of flowers with her right hand, which is being handed to her by a young woman. Above the throne a red velum drawn from the center to the side, held by two putti. On the lower step on the left in a gleaming silver robe with an embroidered pearl border and a small crown on her head is Saint Catherine, holding a martyr's palm in her hand, next to whom can be seen parts of a wheel and a sword in the hand of a putto sitting on the steps. Opposite her on the right, wearing a valuable bishop's robe and holding a burning heart in his outstretched hand, is St. Augustine. Painting of high quality. (14008910) (18)
