Pair of paintingsPORTRAITS OF LADIES OF PARIS LIFE Crayon on paper. 31 x 22 and 33 x 23.5 cm. Each monogrammed lower left and lower right and with dedication. Framed behind glass in passepartout. The portrayed young women look towards the viewer with a winking smile; realized with quick but precise strokes. The colors always remain bright and bold, in the artist's typical style. Louis Fortuney is a French artist who worked primarily as a painter, pastelist and lithographer. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse. He mainly produced paintings for the Ministry of the Navy. His art was inspired by Parisian life during the Belle Époque, but also by the sea and its surroundings. (14010213) (19)
