Annotation: The painter was a pupil of J. van der Stok, H. ten Cate and K. Karsen. Numerous paintings by his hand found their way into public collections, such as the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, the Stedelijk Museum, the Kunsthalle Bremen, the museums in Brussels, Dordrecht, Haarlem, Cologne, Rotterdam and the Princely Liechtenstein Palace.
