COLLECTION OF 14 BOTANICAL ILLUSTRATIONS Pencil and watercolor on paper and cardboard. 45.5 x 33 cm. Individually inscribed and signed "Maubert pinx". Three watercolors are framed, eleven are in a portfolio. Edouard Maubert illustrated several botanical works. He collaborated with botanists and was involved for several decades in all kinds of encyclopaedias and garden publications, both for amateurs and professionals. The large-format watercolors were partly published as hand-colored lithographs in the work of the Belgian editor Jean Jules Linden "Pescatorea - Iconographie des Orchidées", 1855 - 1860 in Brussels.
