THE BOY Oil on wood. 33 x 25 cm. Signed lower left. In a frame with ornamental relief. At an oriental archway in the afternoon light, a messenger with a letter standing in the doorway, where a veiled woman receives him. On the left in the foreground, a horse enters the pictorial space. Pasini, whose works are represented in numerous museums, traveled extensively and was thus able to gather impressions in Egypt, on the Red Sea, in Arabia, Persia and several times in Istanbul.
