MOUNTAIN LANDSCAPE Oil on canvas. 90 x 140 cm. Signed "Mulley" lower left and inscribed "Kufstein". Verso titled "Bergbauernhaus", inscribed and dated "1933". In profiled frame. Typical depiction of the artist with buildings surrounded by black contours against a rocky backdrop. The artist was an Austrian academic landscape painter and graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. He is one of the leading representatives of Tyrolean art of the interwar period (including Albin Egger-Lienz (1868-1926), Alfons Walde (1891-1959)). His Kufstein period is dominated by mountain motifs, which are always free of figures. His heroic landscapes with impasto application of paint in palette knife technique were highly appreciated from the mid-1920s onwards.(1402375) (13) Oskar Mulley, 1891 Klagenfurt - 1949 Garmisch ALPINE LANDSCAPE Oil on canvas. 90 x 140 cm.
