BOATS AND SLOOPS ON A STORMY LAKE Oil on canvas. 43 x 64 cm. Signed "JULES NOËL" lower right. In the bright evening light, numerous sailors with dinghies approach the large seagoing vessels near the quay on a stormy and turbulent sea. In the distance, a large sailing ship can be seen moving away. With great mastery, Noël takes care of the details of a lively and moving scene. With graphic quality, he stretches the rigging of the sails, while with a quicker brushstroke he paints the sailors at work among the waves. (14014812) (19)
