PORTRAITS OF THE MARCHESI CIAMBRINI Oil on canvas. Doubled. 111 x 94 cm. In gilded profile frame. Enclosed an expertise dated February 20, 1989 with identification of the sitter and provenance information, in copy. Each as a three-quarter portrait in elegant dress, the lady in an architectural structure with a round column and green velum, the portrait of the gentleman backed with a reddish cloth of honor with a gold border. Clementi studied in Turin with the court painter Giovanni Battista Curlando, through whom she specialized in portraits. In 1733, she moved with her husband to the palace of Carlo Giacinto Roero. She painted numerous portraits of the Savoy family. Provenance: According to the accompanying expertise, from the collection of Conte Ranieri Samminiatelli di Vignamaggio in Chianti. Literature: Cf.
