Pair of paintingsMYTHOLOGICAL REPRESENTATIONS Oil on canvas. Doubled. 94 x 89 cm and 94.5 x 93.5 cm. In decorative frames. One painting shows the childlike naked Roman god Bacchus in a landscape on a red cloth sitting on a leopard with spotted fur, one of his iconographic attributes, which also include the thyrsus staff in his left hand, the wreath of vine leaves on his head and the panicle of grapes he is holding. In front of him are two dancing satyrs with castanets in their hands. The other painting depicts, again in landscape, the seated Castor and Pollux, an intimate pair of twins conceived by Leda and Jupiter in the form of a swan flying above them.
