Römischer Meister des 17. Jahrhunderts und Abraham Brueghel (1631-1697), zugeschrieben

BROTHER AND SISTER Oil on canvas. 99 x 72 cm. Unframed, narrow strip at lower edge only. Against a dark scenic background, a swimming little boy in a long, partly decorated robe, next to him his little sister in a dress with a white hood; she is sitting on a red cushion decorated with a golden tassel, which is lying on a block of stone. In her right hand she is holding a pair of yellow daffodils, while more flowers lie in her lap. There is also a large decorative vase on the right, from which some red carnations and pink flowers protrude. The floral still life can be attributed to Abraham Bruegehl (1631-1697). A copper kettle can also be seen at the lower right edge. Loving depiction of the brother and sister, who are both gazing attentively out of the picture. (14008957) (18)
