THE MOTHER OF GOD WITH THE BOY JESUS IN A WREATH OF FLOWERS Oil on copper. 37.5 x 30 cm. In the center in a high oval, a three-quarter portrait of the standing Madonna in a red and blue robe, with long hair, a crown on her head and a golden sceptre in her left hand. In her right arm she holds the boy Jesus, who is holding a glass globe and has raised his right hand in a gesture of blessing. The oval painting is surrounded by a wreath of finely painted open flowers in various colors, including pink and white roses, tulips, irises, Turk's cap, checkerboard flowers and smaller meadow flowers. The present painting is probably the joint work of a flower painter and a figure painter, in which the fine, colorful flowers are particularly emphasized against the dark background. (14023212) (18)
