VENUS CONNECTS AMOR'S EYES Oil on canvas. Doubled. 112 x 169 cm. On the left, against a dark background with red velum drawn to one side, the magnificently dressed Venus in a white dress with a blue cape and with long, dark blonde hair coiffed and crowned. She can be seen resolutely blindfolding the winged Cupid on her lap with a long cloth, while behind her a second Cupid devotes his full attention to the scene. On the right, two women approach with bows and quivers filled with arrows, probably the nymphs Dori and Armilla. In the background is a mountainous landscape in the reddish light of the setting sun. Annotation: The original painting by Titian, oil on canvas, is in the Galleria Borghese, Rome and measures 116 x 184 cm.
