PREDELLA PAINTING DEPICTING SAINT CLARA WITH SEBASTIAN AND MARTIN ON THE SIDES Oil on poplar wood. 28.5 x 47 cm. Probably the predella of a small domestic altarpiece, on a solid poplar panel, not trimmed, the painted margins all preserved. The elongated panel divided into three compositions: The three-quarter portrait of St. Clare of Assisi, with a lily as an attribute, is emphasized centrally by a painted frame in pink stone, but also by the dominant black background. The figures flanking the sides are backed by a round-arched gold background. Sebastian is standing in a contrapposto, with a loincloth and arrows in his left hand, his face turned upwards. Martin, on the other hand, stands broad-legged in armor, with shield and lance. His striking red cloak points to the mantle. Slightly curved wood.
