MARY WITH THE CHILD JESUS IN A RADIANT WREATH Oil on wood. 77 x 56 cm. In ebonized frame with gold fillet and water stain. Mary in three-quarter view in a dark dress with a light, red-lined cloak over it, in the folds of which she holds up the child in her right arm. The child is holding a red apple as a symbol of original sin. Mary holds a sceptre with a lily-shaped finial in her left hand, formally corresponding to the decoration of her crown. The heads of the two figures are backed with gold nimbuses. The entire composition of figures on a dark, almost black background, on which jagged rays surround the figurative composition. Painted light mural arch in the upper part of the picture. (1400897) (13)
