STATELY BIRD PIECE WITH PEACOCK, ROSES AND PARK Oil on canvas. Doubled. 160 x 230 cm. In gilded frame with relief decoration. Integrated into a park whose access path is lined with cypresses running towards the vanishing point of the painting and is characterized by a French garden structure structured by hedges, a fragment of architecture can be seen, with a flowering rose bush winding up the wall and thus marking the center of the picture. An imposing peacock below can be seen alongside other birds, some of which are on the ground, others in the air in keeping with their nature. Hondecoeter, but also de Coninck, could be responsible for this painting. Similar compositions with birds in parks can be found in the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (inv. no. 758) or in the Fries Museum, Leeuwarden (inv. no. PTII-0240).
