Limoges-Emailkreuz-Auflage
Center diameter: 7 cm. Height of the sections: 5 cm each. Mounted on fabric, framed behind glass, 30 x 25 cm. Limoges, probably 14th century. Copper, enamel in dark red and blue, gilding and engraving. Five parts that together form a cross. Probably formerly book cover or wooden cross supports, as indicated by the small perforations. The round central section depicts Christ blessing, with the evangelist symbols for Mark, Matthew and Luke at the top and sides. The lower section for John is missing, the addition gilded, without decoration. (1401922) (1) (11)
