LARGE PARISIAN MANTEL CLOCK Gregoire Rouma (around 1800-1840). Height: 49.5 cm. Width: 36 cm. Depth: 12.5 cm. Movm.: 14-day movement, pendulum on a thread suspension, regulated by a knurled wheel on the back. Lock plate striking mechanism for half and hour strike on bell. Gilding in immaculate condition. Case: The gilded bronze superstructure is thematically dedicated to Apollo, the god of the muses, and the attributes of Cupid. The base is decorated with a lyre motif between wreaths of flowers, with Cupid's arrows inside. A lyre held by Apollo, the god of the muses, standing on the left. On the right a large harp in front of Cupid's bow. Dial: Rectangular movement construction with enamel dial with Roman hours, signed and inscribed Paris. Breguet hands blued. A.R. Literature: Cf.
