Skeleton clock in gilded and burnished bronze, and black marble. The white enamelled annular dial, surrounded by two leaf friezes, signed Bryère in Versailles, indicates the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in increments of fifteen. It is set in a crystal plate and surrounded by stars, butterflies and drapery. The lower part features Venus in her chariot, drawn by peacocks and accompanied by musical loves. The canted rim is underlined by a frieze of leafy ovals. The black marble base is decorated with two griffins facing each other and surrounded by floral scrolls. The recessed corners are decorated with a daisy in full bloom. The movement with side wheels supporting the two bronze motorized weights, chased with leaf friezes, and the balance ending in a mask of Apollo. Late Empire period. H. 45 cm - W. 30 cm - D. 12.5 cm.
