Set of three personal souvenirs on August 10, 1792 from Gabriel Denis DEVILLE, second lieutenant in the Swiss Guards, present at the Tuileries: - "Journal d'un officier aux gardes suisses pour la journée du 10 Aoust 1792" (Diary of an officer in the Swiss Guards for the day of August 10, 1792); Notebook of 35 handwritten pages recounting the events experienced by Gabriel Deville, officer in the Swiss Guards corps, from August 9, 1792 until his departure for England. Bound in paper with silk ribbon. This account, one of the few from one of the Swiss present at the Tuileries during the massacre of the unit, was published in 1928 in the Revue des Deux Mondes. 32 x 21 cm. Enclosed four pages "Relation de Mr de Durlier capitaine au régiment des gardes suisses"; - Colonel PFYFFER D'ALTISHOFEN. "Récit de la conduite du régiment des gardes suisses à la journée du 10 août 1792". Lador, 1824. 68 pages with engravings, some in color. Some foxing. With history, nominative lists of officers (including Deville) and troops; - "JJournée du 10 août 1792". Engraving by Esnauts and Rapilly in color. Copy by Deville, who lived through this day at the heart of the events.
