Jean Baptiste Siméon CHARDIN (1699 - 1779), after. "La mère laborieuse". Unsigned oil on canvas. 19th century. In a gilded stuccoed wooden frame decorated with roses (Dim.: 55 x 46 cm) (a few small dents to the paint layer, repaints and restorations; frame missing). Our painting is a remake of a work executed by Chardin in 1740 and conserved at the Musée du Louvre under inventory number INV 3201. "La Mère laborieuse" is the counterpart to Chardin's "Bénédicité", also in the Musée du Louvre.
