First illustrated edition, published by the Société de Saint-Éloy, printed in an edition of 128 numbered copies on Arches wove paper. It is decorated with 49 original etchings, including a title vignette, 16 chapter headings, 16 in-text compositions and 16 culs-de-lampe, by 16 member artists, namely: Charles JOUAS, André DAUCHEZ, Georges GOBÔ, Paul-Adrien BOUROUX, Eugène VEDER, Tigrane POLAT, Auguste BROUET, Henry CHEFFER, Pierre GUSMAN, Georges JEANNIOT, Edgar CHAHINE, Charles HALLO, Louis WILLAUME, Georges LE MEILLEUR, Amédée FÉAU and Albert DECARIS. Copy no. 45, specially printed for Albert Sancholle-Henraux (1881-1953), art lover, president of the Société des Amis du Louvre, curator of the Musée Condé in Chantilly and president of the Conseil artistique de la Réunion des musées nationaux.
