Jansenist red morocco, ribbed spine, blue morocco lining decorated with gilded fillets and dotted lines, red moiré silk endpapers, double endpapers, gilded edges, slipcase (G. Levitzky). Fine edition printed at 265 copies on Rives vellum, illustrated with more than 150 woodcut letterplates and 20 original color hors texte etchings by Charles MARTIN (1884-1934). ONE OF THE 20 FIRST EDITED EXAMPLES (no. 2) : - a suite of second state etchings in black with remarks, - a suite of etchings in the first state in black with remarks, - a suite of crossed-out etchings, - a color decomposition of one of the etchings, - an original signed engraving drawing, - 7 original lettering drawings, - a print order for one of the copperplates. The decomposition, the original drawing and the bon à tirer concern here the second plate of the work, located opposite page 12. The crossed-out gilt copper plate is missing. A very fine copy in Levitsky's lined binding.
