Revorim binding, black molded polyurethane boards, black-striped gray calf with palladium title on upper board, visible stitching, ochre suede lining, hardback cover and spine, cardboard folder and slipcase (Jean de Gonet, Antonio P. N., 1987). First edition, dedicated to Jean Paulhan, of these aphorisms by Pierre Seghers on painting. Printed by Mourlot frères. It is illustrated with 2 original lithographs by Jean DUBUFFET (1901-1985), signed on stone, including one in black on the cover and one in color on the frontispiece. This is the first book illustrated by Dubuffet. Edition of 161 copies; one of 140 on Arches paper. A very fine copy bound by Jean de Gonet and Antonio Perez Noriega in 1987. Spine of dust jacket faded.
