In sheets, filled cover, publisher's folder and slipcase. Extremely rare edition of these three tales by Edgar Allan Poe translated by Baudelaire. It was published in the "Collection des douze" by novelist and cartoonist Jean BRULLER (1902-1991). It is printed in an edition of no more than 12 numbered copies on Arches wove paper, all unique in that they are illustrated with 9 original drawings signed by the artist-publisher, pasted into the text. "This collection is a research laboratory, and as the museum of my loves illustrates texts close to my heart, I have repeated each drawing extensively, varying, correcting and modifying until I could do no better. With the best twelve of each kind, I made up the twelve copies of the present edition" (justification). Copy number 11, signed and numbered by Bruller, perfectly preserved. At the end is a drawing depicting the initials JB accompanied by an anchor and a heart-shaped blue ribbon, with this motto: "Stay true to yourself."
