First edition illustrated by the author with 31 original color etchings, including a frontispiece, ten hors-texts, ten chapter headings and ten culs-de-lampe. Only fifty numbered copies were printed on Arches vellum. This one was specially printed for the symbolist poet Gustave Khan (1859-1936), containing two states of the illustrations (in color and in black with remarks). A very well-preserved copy, despite a few folds to the cover and a few foxing marks to the edges of the leaves.
