PERRAULT (Charles). Sleeping Beauty. Little Red Riding Hood. Deux contes de ma mère loye. London: Eragny press, 1899. - In-12, 193 x 125 : 38 pp, (1 f.). Bradel-style stiff parchment, smooth spine, untrimmed (contemporary binding). Fine edition dedicated to Émile Verhaeren, printed in an edition of 224 copies on laid paper. It is illustrated with a title vignette, a double-page gilded frontispiece in a handsome floral frame, a full-page figure, the publisher's mark and 37 initials, drawn by Impressionist painter Lucien Pissarro and wood-engraved by the artist and his wife Esther. The Eragny Press was an English art publishing house set up by Lucien and Esther Pissarro, which published just 32 books between 1894 and 1914. This is the second title to come from their press. A fine copy in a slightly later binding, enriched by the two subscription leaves bound at the end. A very well preserved copy.
