Havana half-maroquin with corners, spine ribbed, gilt head, untrimmed, cover preserved, case (Semet et Plumelle). First edition with cover and title dated 1874. The work had appeared in Paris with Lacroix et Verboeckhoven in 1869, but had not been marketed. The edition was bought back almost in its entirety by the Brussels bookseller Jean-Baptiste Rozez, who offered it for sale in 1874 with a reprinted false title and title and a new cover. A very fine copy bound by Semet et Plumelle.
