Rare edition of the Italian translation by Lelio Manfredi (14..-15..) of this famous sentimental novel by the Castilian writer Diego de San Pedro (1437?-1498?). Reflecting the main issues then being debated at the Castilian court, it tells the tale of the misfortunes of the knight Leriano in love with Princess Laureole, heiress to the throne of Macedonia. The original Spanish version first appeared in Seville in 1492, and the Italian version in 1513. Fine Venetian printing on two columns. The title, printed in Gothic letters, is framed by four woodcuts. A good copy in contemporary binding. Tear with loss and damage to text at top corner of folio b1.
