HISTORY JOURDAN Jean-Baptiste (1762-1833) marshal. L.A.S. to Alexandre Rousselin de Saint-Albin, at Le Coudrai, August 1, 1821. ¾ p. in-4, addressed. On his memoirs. "Having left my handwritten memoirs in the hands of a friend of mine who wished to read them, I am unable to communicate them to you at this time, but I hope that they will be returned to me by St. Louis, at which time I propose to make a trip to Paris; I will carry them with me, and you will be able to acquaint yourself with them during my stay in the Capital []"; MARINE. 2 manuscripts: Saint-Nazaire March 22 and 24, 1878; 6 pp.1/2 in-fol. Handwritten reports on the sinking of the ship Liberté-Pour-Tous, following an exceptional storm on March 22 and 24, 1878. Intended for shipowner Gabriel Lauriol and his insurers, they recount the dramatic events that occurred "aboard the French three-masted barque Liberté-Pour-Tous, of the Port of Nantes", caught in a tropical cyclone off South Africa in the Indian Ocean. These two reports give an account of the damage caused to the ship and its cargo loaded at Bimlipatam (India). A postcard depicting "L'Etoile" is enclosed; MORNY Charles de (1811-1865). L.A.S., to Charles Merruau, (s.l.n.d.) " Friday evening"; 1 p. in-8 with his crowned cipher. "M. B Delessert asks me to ask you to reproduce this letter from him in Le Constitutionnel this evening. I think you will have no objection []". Attached is a telegram of condolence addressed to Mme Merruau by the Countess de Pierrefonds [Empress Eugénie].
