Silver Empire sugar bowl 18th/19th century, Silver, stamped with the Berlin hallmark, tremolo mark, year mark S, cut insert of clear colourless glass, on a cantilevered, stepped foot with open-worked wall and hinged, equally open-worked handle, decorated with dolphins, shells, partly intertwined floral and ornamental bands, a Bacchus mascaron and vine leaves, the glass insert decorated with notch and stone-cut decoration, wavy rim, the rim with chips, signs of age and wear, h 21 cm, G silver approx. 171 g.
