Income and expenditure are calculated for Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyana and Mana, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Senegal and its dependencies, Bourbon (Reunion Island), Sainte-Marie-de-Madagascar, French settlements in India and Indian rent. Full shagreened basane, gilt roulette on the edges, gilt faux-nerve spine, gilt fleurons, red morocco title page, roulette on the edges. Corners dulled, beginning of split at bottom of upper spine, small black spot at top of upper spine.

Victor Schœlcher was the leading French specialist on colonial issues, best known for his leading role in the abolition of slavery in France in 1848. Paul Dislère, 1840 - 1928, Polytechnician, naval engineer and great French administrator, was particularly concerned with the Colonies and made a prestigious career holding numerous posts until being appointed in 1889 'Premier vice-président du conseil d'administration de l'École coloniale'. 305x210 mm folio.
