First edition. - Hess/Coger 5901 - Kainbacher 150 - Zintgraff (1858-1897) went to Cameroon in 1886 on behalf of the German imperial government, where he explored the Wuri, the main artery of the Cameroon River. He spent most of his time in Cameroon until 1892 and was the first to explore large parts of the country. - Browned due to paper, some spotting, a few pp. with small tidemark, endpapers and first 3 pp. with stamp and some foxing. Overall well-preserved copy. Colonies - Cameroon -With 16 plates a. 1 color lithographic folding map. Half-leather with title on spine and leather corners (somewhat more scuffed, rubbed and bumped, front joint cracked, front cover with fragments of a label). - First edition. - Zintgraff (1858-1897) went to Cameroon in 1886 on behalf of the German Imperial Government, where he explored the Wuri, the main route of the Cameroon River. Until 1892 he stayed mainly in Cameroon and was the first to explore large parts of the country. - Paper somewhatt browned, some stains, a few leaves with small waterstains, endpapers and first 3 leaves with stamp(s) and some foxing. Overall a well preserved copy.
