Postcard, franked with 3 stamps bearing the effigy of King Alfonso XIII, dispatched from the Siemens branch in Seville. Seville flame cancel - date stamp June 5, 1930. Carries 2 commemorative flight stamps: large purple diamond-shaped cachet (90mm) "ROUND FLIGHT EUROPE PAN-AMERICA" with flight route map and flight cachet and flight-specific cachet Seville/Germany in red - 2018 transported folds - Muller 43 * LZ 129 - passenger zeppelin (50 to 72) with 61 crew. First flight March 4, 1936, destroyed May 6, 1937. Length 246 meters, diameter 41 meters - cruising speed 85 km/h - the largest airship ever built. Most famous for its demise, an event that received worldwide media coverage and put an end to the adventure of transatlantic airship transport: spectacular fire on landing at Lahehurst /NJ, USA, rapidly fuelled by hydrogen, resulting in the deaths of 35 people on board and one on the ground.
