CHINA - Early 20th century Pair of ovoid vases in bronze with brown patina, decorated with friezes of geometric motifs, the body flanked by two masks of lions spitting rings forming handles. (one ring detached). H. 30.4 cm Provenance: Collection of Doctor Maurice Fournials. Appointed in 1923 to the French Occupation Corps in China, he later became the guard physician at the French Legation in Peking, then assistant physician to the President of the Chinese Republic.
