Natural history. (France, circa 1900) Natural history. (France, circa 1900). Wooden box, size 28.5 x 21 x 10 cm, covered with red paper, gilded title on a red banner on the lid. It contains two superimposed drawers (wood and cardboard), each holding thirty-five solid wooden cubes, 3.5 cm square. On each side of the cubes is a color lithographed image fragment; correctly arranged, the cubes can be used to reconstitute a botanical or zoological plate: plants (2 pl.), butterflies, molluscs, birds (2 pl.), rodents, insects, fish, marine mammals, (exotic) mammals, miscellaneous (nematodes, spiders...). There are twelve model plates. Set of cubes on the theme of natural history. Good condition.
