Fragment of an Etruscan frieze panel with horses of a quadriga. Mid 6th century BC. H 12.4cm, W 15.4cm, D 3.8cm. Light brown terracotta. Molded relief. Painted in light and reddish brown as well as black and white. The front horse of a four-in-hand team with elaborate bridle is preserved. The differently colored legs of the other three horses can still be seen at the bottom and the remains of the mane of the white horse at the top. A wonderful depiction of a horse! With certificate of authenticity from Galerie Günter Puhze, Freiburg im Breisgau! Published in: I. Jucker, Italy of the Etruscans. Exhibition Jerusalem (1991) p. 254 no. 328 (copy enclosed). Broken at the sides, color very well preserved and only rubbed in a few small places, with beautiful metal stand. Provenance: From the R. L. Collection, Lower Saxony, acquired in 2009 from Galerie Puhze, Freiburg im Breisgau; formerly in the C.-A. Collection, Geneva.

Astonishing photographic set (silver print) of 10 documents on these renaissance Games:a) three captioned photos (13x18) of the cycling events and tricolore exploits, the finish of the great Jacques Dupont in the 1000m, Beyaert crossing the finish line greeted by the Olympic flag, the tricolore Olympic pursuit team, who would go on to become champions; b) seven photos (20.5x26) of the shooting of the official film "la gloire du sport", with horse riding, water polo, the road race, Fanny's arrival, and the technical team at work. Salieth excud. Rotterdam". Date: 1790 Description: The portrait of Jacob Pieter van Braam shows the admiral as a half-length figure in front of the open sea. Frigates firing cannonballs can be seen in the background. The admiral appears to be pointing at something with his right index finger.
