Ferdinand Böhmer-Fest, Winter near Kaiserswerth Wide river landscape in the morning mist, with the ruins of the imperial palace and the towers of Suitbertus Minster, in the Düsseldorf district of Kaiserswerth on the Rhine, although the artist also masterfully captured Dutch city views and motifs of Fraueninsel in Chiemsee, his strength lay in the depiction of contemplative river landscapes and quiet brook meadows, slightly impasto landscape painting with a broad brushstroke in almost monochrome colours, oil on canvas, c. 1920, signed "Böhmer-Fest" lower right, few losses of colour, in need of cleaning, minor restoration, beautifully framed in a gilt stucco frame, rebate dimensions approx. 87 x 122 cm.
